Blog 3: My favorite series

Outlander It is a British-American dramatic series, it is based on the novels Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, developed by Ronald D. Moore and produced by Sony Picture Television.

Its premiere was on August 9, 2014, it has 5 seasons broadcast and this year the 6 season was being produced, but due to the pandemic the filming was stopped.

The series introduces us to Claire Beachamp (Caitriona Balfe), who is a combat nurse in the Second World War in 1945. Who during a trip to Scotland with her husband, Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies), visits a circle of ancient stones, which transports her to Scotland in 1734, where the last Jacobite uprisings are lived, and a battle between Scottish and British.

At this time is where she meets Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a young Scotsman, with whom she is forced to marry to ensure her survival, but she did not count on him falling in love with Jamie, so she is divided between the love of two men from different times.

The character development is perfect, it is shown that all the participants in the story are relevant, besides that it is interesting to see the game of time. Since Claire knows part of the history of Scotland, thanks to her husband Frank, so she must know what moves she can make, so that a change is not caused in the Frank era.

It is a great series for those who want to learn about other cultures and a bit of history, showing the Scottish customs. in addition to giving us the beautiful landscapes of Scotland.

The series can be seen on the Netflix and Movistar + platforms

Blog 2: Music

The music genre that I listen to most is the rock, but within this genre, I like alternative rock, indie rock, blus rock and grunge.

I like many exponents of this genre, so I think I could not say which is my favorite, so I will name the ones I listen to most frequently. Noel Gallagher ex-member of the band Oasis, the song I like the most about him is "Revolution song". Greta Van Fleet, american band, exponent of blues rock, my favorite songs are "Safari Song", "Highway Tune" and "Black Smoke Rising", all from the same album From the fires (2017). Another band that I love is Pearl Jam and I love the song "Sirens". And finally another of the bands that I fell in love with in 2015, was Tha Black Keys, my favorite album is Brothers and I love you three songs, "Tighten Up", "Howlin' for You" and "These Days".

Although I am passionate about this musical genre, I frequently listen to all kinds of music, but I do not like reggaeton and K-pop.

But this last time, there is a song that I listen to at least 3 times a day, this usually happens to me when I really like a song. This song is "Lit
 '莲
"
by singer Lay, he is of Chinese origin, and I learned that he belongs to the EXO band, which surprised me, because his style is totally different from pop. As I said before, I don't like K-pop, so I haven't listened to music from the band I belong to. "Lit" is a mixture of Trap and Rap, in addition to using two languages in this song, Chinese and English, and what made me fall in love with this song the most is the cultural rescue it does, since classical Chinese instruments with current sound are used and the music video transports us to this classic era. Also in my personal opinion I consider it to be a great video.

I'm going to leave some links, in case you want to listen to the music that I named:

Blog 1: A country I'd like to visit

In the future I would like to visit several countries and settle in them for about three years. Unless one of them completely captivate me.

I have always liked different cultures and languages that I don’t usually listen to frequently. Is for that I would liked to visit Norway, Germany and South Korea. I couldn’t tell which of these is my favorite.

This time I will choose Norway, because its landscapes give me a feeling of tranquility and freedom. I have always liked very green landscapes, forests and rivers. Also I hate the heat and Norway has a cold climate, it is perfect.

Because a third of Norway is in glacial areas, the Northern Lights can be seen between October and March.

What I like the most about this country is that it is deeply rooted in its culture and art, with many museums and art galleries. In addition to the fact that its inhabitants show great respect for the environment, currently much of its architecture is sustainable.

I consider these to be the best places to visit in Norway:

Geiranger fjord

Northern Lights from Tromsø

Bergen's wooden houses
Stavanger

Blog 6: English language challenges
